Denver’s Best Tennis Elbow and Tendinitis Massage can be found at Peace of Mind Therapeutic Massage and Wellness on Old South Pearl Street in Platt Park close by to Washington Park, Cherry Creek, Capital Hill, Englewood, and central to all of Denver, Colorado.

It’s a beautiful summer in Denver, Colorado. A great time for tennis, golf, volley ball, swimming, and other fun activities. These sports require strength and endurance. Not only do your muscles need to be strong, but the tendons that attach your muscles to your bones need to be able to withstand pressure and stress from exercise as well. When you make a movement to take a step, pick something up, lift something, or any other move you make, you contract your muscles, which pull on the bones to make the movement. The tendons transmit the force of the muscle contraction to the bone.

Repetitive motion, overuse, excessive stress, weakness, and numerous other factors can cause the tendons in our bodies to become inflamed. When this happens, it is known as Tendinitis. A common example of a Tendinitis related condition is known as “Tennis Elbow”. Tennis Elbow occurs in the tendons of the elbow and forearm. Tennis Elbow can be quite painful and cause someone to stop wanting to use the effected arm. The movements in the arm become irritating and sore when Tennis Elbow is occurring. Movements no longer feel smooth but rigid and stiff. Tennis Elbow obviously got its name for it’s effects on Tennis players, but it also often effects those who have to do a lot of typing and work on the computer, musicians, camera men and photographers. Basically anyone who works with their hands and arms could fall victim to Tennis Elbow.

Massage Therapy is a known antidote and preventative measure for Tennis Elbow. In my Denver office on Old South Pearl Street I offer skilled application of Trigger Point Therapy, Sports Massage, Therapeutic Stretching, and Deep Tissue Massage to effectively treat Tennis Elbow. Massage can greatly decrease the pain from Tennis Elbow. You should always continue to receive regular Massage to prevent Tennis Elbow. No one wants to have to discontinue the fun activities that may have brought on and continue to irritate Tennis Elbow. And, in some cases your job may depend on it! Tennis Elbow left untreated can result in chronic pain. If you’ve been living with Tennis Elbow for a long time, seek regular bodywork out to manage your pain and give you a better life!

If you are in the Denver area, and are suffering from Tendinitis, Massage Therapy can help you. My office is located on Old South Pearl Street near Platt Park, Washington Park, Cherry Creek, Capitol Hill, DTC, and Englewood. I work on numerous people suffering from many different conditions such as TMJ, Tennis Elbow, Knee Injuries, Back Injuries, etc. Please visit my website to learn more about Peace of Mind Therapeutic Massage & Wellness in Denver, Colorado.

Massage Therapy for Disc Pain, Back Surgery, and Injury in Denver

Denver’s Best Back Massage can be found at Peace of Mind Therapeutic Massage and Wellness on Old South Pearl Street in Platt Park close by to Washington Park, Cherry Creek, Capital Hill, Englewood, and central to all of Denver, Colorado.

If you are suffering from herniated, deteriorating, or bulging discs, Spinal Stenosis, Injuries, or if you are recovering from surgeries performed to alleviate the symptoms of these disorders, Massage Therapy can help. If you are in the Washington Park, Platt Park, Cherry Creek, Capital Hill, Englewood, and other surrounding neighborhoods in Denver, Colorado Peace of Mind Therapeutic Massage & Wellness is the place to go for advanced therapies designed to help you manage your pain.

Spinal Stenosis is caused by trauma to the spine, or in the case for most elderly patients, it is caused by Paget’s Disease or Osteoarthritis. Injury to the spinal column causes pressure on the nerve roots or the spinal cord itself. This causes numbness, pain, weakness, and cramping. With advanced Massage Therapy techniques such as Neuromuscular Therapy and Myofascial Release, posture improves reducing abnormal curves in the spine, therefore taking pressure off the nerve root. Massage Therapy is not a cure to this disease but it can help with the painful symptoms. Numbness, pain, weakness, and cramping might occur and not be related to Spinal Stenosis, and a skilled Massage Therapist can locate other problem areas in the body and alleviate pain in those areas.

If your disc pain condition has resulted in surgery, and you’re still experiencing pain, Massage Therapy is a great way to manage that pain. There is no cure all, even surgery. Our bodies are deteriorating as we age, and with the pressure of life, work, and the amount of activities available to us in beautiful Colorado, we will continue to irritate old injuries and/or painful conditions. So don’t be shocked if you need to continue treating your back pain after back surgery. Massage Therapy is a safe, effective, and natural way to manage pain and help with recovery post surgery.

Massage Therapy is great for scar tissue removal. Scar tissue forms after surgery or injury. Scar tissue is an adhesion that sticks muscles fibers together, causing them to not slide and move properly. Scar tissue can also occur in the connective tissue, causing muscles and joints not to move correctly, and it can occur on nerve cells causing painful conditions like carpal tunnel syndrome and chronic back pain. Scar tissue causes pain, weakness, and stiffness. Advanced Massage Therapy techniques applied on and around the scar after the acute inflammation phase (48-72 hours), can strongly improve the healing process and recovery after surgery and injury.

Injuries can be caused by car accidents, extreme sports, and harsh weather. With snowboarding, mountain climbing, skiing, hiking, and biking being the top activities in Denver, Colorado there are bound to be some accidents and injuries! If you have hurt yourself and are looking into what will help you recover the fastest and the healthiest, try Massage! You can accompany Massage Therapy with Physical Therapy, Acupuncture, Yoga, and Chiropractic for a well rounded natural health care regime. If you’re suffering from whiplash, sprains, strains, back pain, headaches, TMJ, etc. it could be from an accident you had, even if it was long ago. It is never too late to start the healing process, give Massage Therapy a try, and for referrals to other health care providers like the ones listed above, Peace of Mind has great references for you.

Please understand that Massage Therapy is not a cure or a quick fix, but a way in which you can safely, naturally, and effectively manage your pain while enjoying the relaxing benefits Massage has to offer as well. I have personally had great results on my clients suffering from disc pain, injury and surgery recovery with Neuromuscular Therapy, Trigger Point Therapy, and other advanced modalities I perform. Setting up regular appointments is how you can get the best results using Massage Therapy. Starting off with weekly or biweekly appointments is the fastest way to get the results you’re looking for, and after the initial and most prominent pain has been relieved, you can lesson how often you come if you choose. A healthy person should still receive a Massage once a month. If you have been in a car accident or have a flex spending account, keep your receipts from Peace of Mind as you may be able to get reimbursed by insurance. It is advised to consult with your primary care Physician before scheduling your Massage after serious injury or surgery.

Tension in the muscles will cause tension in the spine, irritating deteriorating, bulging, or herniated discs. Stress and tension will also flare up old injuries or irritate areas that have been worked on surgically, as they are most likely more sensitive post intrusive surgery. Massage Therapy may not completely rid you of your disc and/or chronic pain but it can ease the painful symptoms associated with it. Massage Therapy relaxes the muscles and the mind. If you haven’t felt the power of Massage Therapy yet, give Peace of Mind Therapeutic Massage & Wellness a call today!

Therapeutic Massage for Prevention in Denver

Denver’s Best Therapeutic Massage can be found at Peace of Mind Therapeutic Massage and Wellness on Old South Pearl Street in Platt Park close by to Washington Park, Cherry Creek, Capital Hill, Englewood, and central to all of Denver, Colorado.

Do you wake up with aches and pains on a regular basis? Do you get headaches, back aches, jaw aches, wrist aches, etc? Do you think you might have chronic pain from repetitive motion at your Denver job or from carrying too much stress around? I bet many of you already know that when your body feels sore, tired, and hurts, Massage Therapy can make you feel relaxed, restored, and revived. I can also guess that many of you wait to schedule a Therapeutic Massage when you are in pain and can’t take it anymore. Did you know that Therapeutic Massage can be used to PREVENT many aches and pains from reaching the point of interfering with your life? When aches and pains go untreated for too long they can interfere with work, recreation, and sleep.

It isn’t just chronic pain sufferers that can benefit from using Therapeutic Massage for prevention. Denver Athletes who use Sports Massage on a regular basis see increased performance and decreased injury during sporting events. They also suffer less soreness and fatigue after strenuous exercise. Whether you love to ride your bike around Washington Park for fun or if you participate in the many Denver races and sporting events that take place, Therapeutic Massage can benefit you!

By using Massage Therapy for preventing pain as well as treating it, the Massage can be better enjoyed. When you are in acute pain, Therapeutic Massage can help but you might be more sensitive and less relaxed. When coming in regularly and not necessarily for one particularly bad problem, the Massage Therapist might also find other trouble spots you didn’t know were there. These spots can be assessed and treated before they reach the point of pain. Did you know your body prioritizes pain? Your mind will only allow so many pain signals to enter your conscience. Lucky for us, we don’t feel every ache and pain that is occurring in our body at the same time. Therapeutic Massage can actually pin point areas where you don’t perceive pain. A skilled Massage Therapist can feel the tension forming and release it before it has a chance to develop into something worse.

People usually ask me how often they should get Therapeutic Massage. Before I answer, I ask them how long the therapeutic effects of massage lasts after a session. It makes sense to me to treat the areas associated with the person‘s pain before they start hurting again. My goal is to prevent the pain from returning. That said, I understand not everyone can afford to get massages every week if that is how long it takes before the pain returns. I suggest exercises, stretches, hydrotherapy, and other home care tips to do during the in between time of massage appointments. Home care is an important part of the healing process.

It comes down to an individual basis to determine how often someone should be coming in for a Massage, depending on their condition. My general opinion on the matter is that if everyone made it a point to regularly lay down and relax while enjoying Therapeutic touch the world would be a happier place! Make a commitment to your wellbeing and put Therapeutic Massage into your schedule as regular maintenance. You will be maintaining your body, as well as your peace of mind.

Instead of waiting until you are going to explode on someone from stress, or until you can hardly get out of bed, or until you can’t get a good night’s rest, make a standing appointment every month or week to receive Therapeutic Massage. Even if you aren’t in immediate pain don’t think of it as just treating yourself to a luxury, but preventing pain from occurring!

Consider calling ahead to guarantee an appointment with a sought after and skilled Massage Therapist instead of calling random places to find whoever has availability that day. Do your research and find the right Massage Therapist for you to better guarantee the best experience. Although I can sometimes accommodate to last minute appointments, I hate having to turn anyone away because I’m booked that day. By calling ahead you don’t have to be disappointed or end up putting off getting the bodywork you need. Schedule ahead and have something to look forward to!

Therapeutic Massage VS. Relaxation Massage: What’s the difference?

Denver’s Best Massage can be found at Peace of Mind Therapeutic Massage and Wellness on Old South Pearl Street in Platt Park close by to Washington Park, Cherry Creek, Capital Hill, Englewood, and central to all of Denver, Colorado.

I often hear my new clients complain of going to a spa and getting a basic Relaxation Massage and feeling like all the Massage Therapist did was rub lotion on their skin. They end up coming to me because although they want to relax they are looking for a Therapeutic Massage for aches and pains as well. Many spas charge differently for a “Relaxation Massage” and a “Therapeutic Massage”. To a skilled Massage Therapist, there is no difference between Relaxation and Therapeutic Massage.

All Massage is Therapeutic no matter the pressure, because touch is healing in its ability to calm the nervous system and sooth the soul. The power of touch is an amazing thing, and being relaxed enough to enjoy it is important. At Peace of Mind Therapeutic Massage & Wellness in Denver, we aim to provide a calm and relaxing environment with the music, decor, and lighting. I approach the manual part of the massage based on what I feel and what my client is telling me. I also think Massage Therapists should be focused on having a relaxed yet present energy for the client to feel the most comfortable with them.

In my practice there is no difference between Therapeutic Massage and Relaxation Massage. I do not charge different prices for advanced modalities, deeper pressure, hot stones, or hydrotherapy. My prices are simple, $1 a minute with discounts given for packages. I take $10 off your first visit. I hate hearing that anyone has had a bad experience during a Massage and I always want my clients leaving feeling both relaxed and restored. Peace of Mind is priceless, so check out my reviews on yelp.
You can also find my client’s testimonials on both of my websites:

Deep Tissue Massage in Denver

Denver’s Best Deep Tissue Massage can be found at Peace of Mind Massage on Old South Pearl Street in Platt Park close by to Washington Park, Cherry Creek, Capital Hill, Englewood, Baker, Glendale, and central to all of Denver, Colorado.

Deep Tissue Massage is an umbrella term for any massage modality used with a “deep” pressure. A variety of strokes can be used during a Deep Tissue Massage such as the Swedish style of long, slow movements or the Neuromuscular style of Trigger Point Release and Therapeutic Stretching. At Peace of Mind Massage in Denver Deep Tissue Massage is offered by all of our Licensed and Nationally Certified Massage Therapists. We use our own unique approach to deliver a Deep Tissue Massage that will leave the client maybe a little sore, but looser with pain reduced and stress relieved.

As mentioned, Deep Tissue Massage is known to sometimes leave the client feeling some soreness. The point of a Deep Tissue Massage should not be to cause pain or hurt. It’s meaning can be found in the name; Deep Tissue. The goal is to access the deeper muscles, tendons, and ligaments that are often the root of common shoulder, low back, neck pain, etc. A skilled Massage Therapist should be able to treat the deeper levels without forcing their way in. Deep Tissue Massage pressure should start off softer and then gradually go into an even, steady, and comfortable pressure. Everyone’s comfort level is different. The Massage Therapist will often use the elbow, thumb, and fingers to hit those deep, tender spots in the body. As these spots are tender, Massage Therapy may cause soreness. After the soreness subsides the goal is for the client to have improved mobility, healthier muscle tone, and less pain.

If a Massage Therapist has not been properly trained in Deep Tissue Massage they may hurt you. It is important for the Massage Therapist to be a good communicator and know the muscular system well. The Massage Therapist will check in and ask how you’re feeling during certain points of the Deep Tissue Massage. The Massage Therapist can usually tell when a spot is tender and will spend time addressing that tender spot and it’s associated pain patterns. These tender spots are known as knots or trigger points and can be reduced significantly with Deep Tissue Massage.

At Peace of Mind Massage we listen to the client and the body. We use intuition and knowledge to find the areas of pain and knots and work them out, using the client’s desired pressure. As a winner of the A-List top 5 Massage businesses in Denver we pride ourselves on our Deep Tissue Massage and aim to never disappoint. We truly care about our client’s improvements. That is why we offer some of the lowest massage rates in Denver. We charge just $1 per minute and take $25 off for a package of 5 massages and $100 off for a package of 10 massages. With prices like these you can afford to come in for Massage Therapy consistently and achieve the best results. If you’re a new client you can take $10 off your first 60 minute or more Deep Tissue Massage at Peace of Mind Massage, INC!
